Attention Land Owners and Operators of Idaho County:

Do you live in the Salmon River Drainage….The Idaho County Soil and Water Conservation District (ISWCD) is putting together an application for a grant that will provide cost share opportunities to landowners and operators to install Best Management Practices.  However, in order to have a valid proposal, potential interest is being sought from local landowners throughout the project area.

The conservation practices will target the reduction of sediment, nutrients and bacteria in these watersheds.  Some BMP’s that are being considered are fencing, water developments, weed spraying, riparian plantings and fire protection.

If you are interested in a water quality project that will reduce pollutants, surveys and maps of the project area are available through the ISWCD in Grangeville, by phone or online at www.Idahocountyswcd.com .  Survey response will allow the District to compose a well suited project to turn in to potential funding sources.  If the grant is awarded interested parties will be notified and given the opportunity to meet with planning staff about their projects.

Input will be taken through September 1, 2008.  For more information contact ISWCD at (208) 983-1046 extension 3.

If you are interested, please complete the survey with the link below and send to Idaho SWCD, 83 Hwy 95 N, Grangeville, ID  83530.
